Wright & Company located at 1500 Woodward has announced that it will close as of July 3. Perched on the second floor of the historic Wright-Kay Building, the restaurant was helmed by James Beard Award semifinalist chef Marc Djozlija and became known for its contemporary American small plates, craft cocktails, and views of Woodward Avenue. Since opening in 2014, Wright & Company has been widely regarded as one of the pioneers of Detroit’s culinary renaissance, helping to establish downtown as a destination for innovative dining. In a social media post announcing the closure, the management thanked customers for their years of support while also signaling that a new chapter may be ahead for the space. “For more than a decade, you’ve made us part of your first dates, anniversaries, celebrations, late-night cocktails, and countless unforgettable evenings. What started as a restaurant became a gathering place, and that’s because of the people who walked through our doors. To every guest, team member, friend, and neighbor who has been part of this journey, thank you. Your support, loyalty, and memories have shaped Wright & Company into what it is today. While our dinner service is coming to a close, our story in this space is not over. We will continue hosting private events, celebrations, and special gatherings in the place we’ve proudly called home for the last 12 years.” For private event inquiries, email roxanne@wrightdetroit.com
