Gotta go Gold

Get your hot dogs here! Gold Bar – located on the lower level of The Fed, a modern American eatery and bar in downtown Clarkston, owned by Sarah and James Schneider – has a menu full of organic wagyu gourmet hot dogs and sides, like chips and dip. “Luckily, we were able to get these beautiful hot dogs. We knew we had this amazing product that we could do something cool and different with,” Sarah said. Opened since late October, some menu highlights include Sarah’s favorite, the Fuego, topped with chipotle mayo, cheddar cheese, cowboy candy, and takis, and the Cali, which has hot sauce, crème fraiche, pickled onions, and micros. Executive chef Jakobi Voorheis said he’s never done a menu like this before but things came together pretty organically. “A lot of the things that make it on the menu are things we like to eat,” Voorheis said. Gold Bar also has some unique features, like the bar itself, made from a vintage Airstream Travel Trailer, and a speakeasy area for private dining. Live music is offered multiple nights a week.
