The wait is over – Phoenicia reopens

Two popular restaurants have reopened their doors after extensive renovations. Samy Eid, co-owner and operator of Phoenicia in Birmingham, said that he is “thrilled” to reopen after a seven-month closure. He said that the renovations took longer than expected due to labor shortages and continued supply chain issues. As guests enter the restaurant, Eid notes that customers will not notice any changes to the interior dining room as the renovations took place in the kitchen as well as with the addition of a private dining room. Approximately 1,000 square feet has been added to the building to accommodate these newly designed spaces. The new intimate dining room, complete with A/V and an atrium roof, will be perfect for hosting business meetings, showers and other small gatherings. The exterior of the building has been repainted and the parking lot, which accommodates 38 cars, also has been redone. Loyal patrons will be happy to learn that, despite all the changes, the classic Phoenicia menu has stayed the same. Eid points out that, “The menu remains exactly how people know and remember it and after 50 years of existence, why we would change it?” 588 S.
